Thomas R. Wiseman, II
Tom Wiseman launched his career in the Financial Services industry with a focus on mutual funds in 1985, after studying at the College of Wooster. Tom later moved to Virginia and founded Wiseman & Associates. After successfully establishing a roster of high-net-worth clients in the Winchester area, Tom expanded the firm to include a Middleburg office. Tom is responsible for overall firm direction and new business development. He specializes in strategic estate and business planning, investment management and retirement planning. He enjoys the rewards this industry offers of truly helping people and seeing them accomplish their financial and personal goals.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys golf, fox hunting and spending time at home with his wife, Alexa and son, William. You might recognize him strolling down the streets of Middleburg and Winchester on occassion with his Great Pyrenees, Willa.
Jeffrey A. Hahn, CFP®
Managing Director / CCO
Jeff received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from Clemson University. He joined W&A in 2008 and is responsible for new business development and current client management. Jeff manages the day-to-day operations of the firm, investment management, insurance and retirement planning. Jeff began his career working in Wilmington, NC for a large financial company in a heavily-focused sales role. He greatly values W&A’s independent business structure, which provides access to a variety of sound financial solutions. There is no sales quota to reach, which allows W&A to truly focus on the best solutions for their clients.
A neat fact about Jeff is that he pitched in the College World Series for Clemson University and went on to be recruited by the Detroit Tigers. Jeff was fortunate enough to spend his honeymoon traveling Europe and considers the Palace of Versailles as one of his favorite places they visited. Jeff lives in Winchester, VA with his wife, Rachel, and two young sons, Truitt and Barrett.
Portfolio Operations Specialist
Jordan began working with W&A in August of 2012 after graduating from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Jordan handles W&A’s day-to-day supervision of the wealth management side of the business, which involves handling client service requests, portfolio monitoring and rebalancing.
In his free time, Jordan volunteers for a baseball and a basketball youth sports league and plays golf. He also enjoys spending time with his family—particularly his five nieces and nephews.
Associate Wealth Manager
Lucy began working with W&A in December of 2014. Lucy aids in new business development and current client management. Prior to this position, Lucy worked as a Registered Paraplanner for a financial planning firm in Warrenton, VA. Lucy graduated from Hollins University in 2008 and received her B.A. in English and Sociology.
Lucy lives outside of Middleburg and enjoys riding and hiking in the area. She is an avid reader and is always up for a book recommendation. She loves to travel and spend time with her husband, Ted, and their two dogs and a cat.
Akhtar began working with Wiseman & Associates as an intern in September of 2013, while pursuing a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Financial Economics from Shepherd University. Akhtar completed his undergraduate education in May 2014. He graduated summa cum laude, was recognized as a Joseph P. McMurran Scholar (Shepherd’s highest academic accolade) and was also inducted to the national honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. Akhtar is in pursuit of becoming a CFA charter holder, and in December of 2014 he successfully passed Level I of the CFA examinations on his first attempt. Akhtar works diligently with our clients in an effort to bolster their financial condition and strives to provide the best customer care in the industry. The bulk of his duties includes constructing financial plans with clients, leading our quarterly investment review committee, and assisting with firm-wide regulatory compliance initiatives.
Outside of the office and when Akhtar is not studying for Level II of the CFA examination, he enjoys spending his time outdoors doing activities such as cycling, golfing, rock climbing, playing tennis, wine tasting and reading.
Director of Marketing
Katherine began working for Wiseman & Associates in January of 2012, with the opening of the new offices in Middleburg. Katherine has worked in the marketing and communications arena for profit and non-profit groups since 1985. She was Director of Marketing for the Berger Funds in the 1990’s, and then worked as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Education. She further received an appointment to the Board of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Katherine began getting involved in the non-profit sector starting with the Jane Goodall Institute, then continuing with the Smithsonian’s Conservation Research Center Foundation, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, the Portland Museum of Art, the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, the Education Committee of the Phillips Collection and many other event committees Her areas of interest include strategic planning, capacity building, networking, development and leadership.
Katherine is a 500E-RYT yoga teacher and Ayurveda lifestyle coach. She also enjoys riding, cooking, reading and gardening.
Kathleen M. Cregan
Kathleen joined Wiseman & Associates in July of 2002 as Controller. In this position, she is responsible for the internal accounting operations of the company, as well as cash management and risk management. A CPA, Kathleen is originally from Philadelphia and received a B.A. in English Literature with High Honors from Middlebury College. Prior to joining W&A, Kathleen worked in corporate accounting at Dell in Round Rock, Texas.
